Storyboard Pro

I doodle my story boards: see below. Well, I’ve been thinking about trying to do them in Photoshop, but that just seemed like a bigger hassle. So I decided to look online and see what was available for storyboard creation. And I found Storyboard Artist and Storyboard Pro.
Storyboard Artist seems like a great program, but it only works with little 3D characters that come with the program… no real drawing tools. BUT, Storyboard Pro is designed for people who can actually draw… which I can (enough). And it has all the great audio handling tools and everything that I was looking for. Like the ability to animate the storyboards with imported audio (dialogue and music), and export to a quicktime file.
Hopefully I’ll be able to post one on here when I get the program up and running. Oh and I bought it on Black Friday, so it was $250 off the normal price… SCORE!

Back from L.A.

I took a much needed vacation to L.A. to see the amazing David Lynch exhibit at Griffin. http://www.griffinla.com
The show was so dang inspiring. David Lynch is definitely our greatest living artist, I have no doubt. Between, paintings, sculpture, cartoons, animation, film, TV, books, music, etc…. who can touch him? Go see the show if you can!
I, also got to see my dear friends Gooding (and Rakki) and Miss Pam Terry… we had a blast and I get the allure (of parts) of L.A… but, I AM a Kansas boy. And very proud of that.
Anyway, the Canon 1D comes in December, and we hope to be shooting by the end of January… fingers crossed.

Yeah, a friend of mine in Los Angeles wanted to show a couple of people the “Bleeding Wichita” script for a possible sell.  But, I’m shooting Bleeding Wichita, so I said I had another unfinished screenplay… But, I finished it over the weekend!

It was one I thought about shooting a while back, but it was just a little bigger than I wanted to tackle.  So, I had a great time rewriting it with the idea that I would not have to shoot this…. only write it.  I got to write in special effects, car chases, etc.  It was a blast.  I would love to tackle another screenplay that I don’t have to worry about the “production” end.

I hope I sell this dang thing…. *fingers crossed*

me_zombie_facesWaaaahoooooo! To be honest, it is bitter sweet. Rod and his cast and crew have been so great. And, I am honored to have had the chance to help Rod bring his vision to life… Follow Rod’s film at: www.harmyfilms.com/blog

Now, I have nothing in the way of doing my film. Oh, except doing the design for Gooding’s new CD (which is his best, yet)… and then no excuses!

Stupid_LockersXThis Tuesday is suppose to be my last day as a zombie on Rod Pocowatchit’s The Dead Can’t Dance… if the weather holds (30% chance and rain). Oh please dear God!!! Anyway, that will be my last official day on Rod’s film and then I can start driving Rod crazy with my film. Rod is the executive producer on my film, by the way. It has been a blast being a part of Rod’s production, even though there is always A LOT of waiting. I played a lot of Rummy with Loni and Megan (art director and make-up)….
Here’s a photo to prove it!

Center Stupid HallwayI’ve been up to my ass in the filming of Rod Pocowatchit’s next feature called “The Dead Can’t Dance”… it’s been an exhausting blast. After the filming of this wraps, it’s full steam ahead on my feature film. I’m slowly buying the appropriate equipment we will need. Rod is an inspiration (in more ways than one), because he owns everything you need to make a film… and that’s a lot! Cameras, lights, tripods, dolly track, mics, boom poles, gels, monitors, etc. And, the photo is of me in my official make-up for the film…. the crew and the actors have been amazing, by the way. Rod knows how to pick ’em!!

2800_1156355669821_1255608566_30430531_852665_n-1During all our preproduction, my friend Rod Pocowachit, has been gearing up to shoot his next feature “The Dead Can’t Dance”.  It’s the story of a virus that wipes out the United States, but mysteriously, Native Americans are immune?

I play “Stupid” the zombie that hasn’t gone completely “zombie” just yet.  We finally start shooting this weekend and I’m very excited.  Rod has worked so damn hard on this.

Go see more at Rod’s production blog:  harmyfilms.blogspot.com/

The photo is of me in my test make-up… I’m suppose to be getting a pretty sweet scar across my face.  Cool.
